This is a celebration post, as we just recieved delivery of our UV exposure unit at our print workshops. I think we might name it ‘the ark of the covenant’ as it is a quite imposing and potentially dangerous box. For those who don’t know, it is a machine for transferring our original artworks onto a silkscreen using UV light, although it does resemble a supercomputer.
When Tahu, Julie and I made the nth convention book together we spent some time making a supercomputer from paper, as we imagined they would have looked. To my surprise I saw an IBM machine in the Paris Musee arts et metiers that looked exactly like our imaginary one. Same size and everything. Anyway the arrival of our last bit of kit means the Press is now ON
We’ll be holding an open day in May where we launch our next book and officially open the Press workshops and my Mother’s new downstairs bathroom.
